What A Great Life! THIS IS THE END of one ofthe most important chapters of your life, seniors of Mesa High. Your first acquaintance with the halls of Mesa High came in the fall of 1953. You, the class of 56, are now looking back over the happy years you spent in high school. Remember your first formal and all your other dances. What about your sports events, some of them sure made you hold your breath! Your high school life wasn't all sports and dances, though. Many of you will also remember the guidance your teachers and counselors gave you to help you over the rocky ground. Remember your graduation night, how you grew quiet as your procession slowly marched across the field to your chairs. There you heard the speakers who helped close one of the most memorable chapters of your life. Slowly and quietly you stepped forward to receive your diplomas. You stood, then, together for the last time as the class of '56, with tears in your eyes and lumps in your throats as you sang to those who were to follow you, your school song, Carry On. Standing: Nick Coleman, Kagve Christense Paul Comer, Pat Hansen, ic ar assen, Mr. Marton, sponsor, Ken Flake, Adele Peterson, Doug Eaves, Penny Buck, Mike Pickrel. Seated: Nona Lou Beaugureau, Willie Peete, Betty Oda. Twenty seven
