FLORENCE MORTENSEN Registration Clerk Mr. White's secretary, Mrs. Harris, had innumerable duties that had to be performed each day aside from the special little things she did for you, such as making out your daily and weekly bulletin and typing letters and filing records. Yes, your office staff was made up of many hard working people, all of whom were ready and willing to help you in any way possible, whether to give out your grade average, file your absence requests or help you in making plans for the future as to the best occu- pation or profession for you to follow. The Record Keepers THE NUMEROUS TIMES you were in and out of the office this year you certainly saw all the work there was to do trying to keep your school on an even keel and keep it running smoothly. The office staff was kept busy every minute, day in and day out, performing many tasks of importance to you and your school. Mr. Kramer, your registrar, was assisted by Mrs. Adair and later by Mrs. Mortensen. They were always encouraging you to think about college early so that you could be prepared. Their task was the never ending one of averaging grades, keeping them up to date, and helping those of you who needed a scholarship apply for one. Your attendance clerks were always busy checking your daily attendance and recording it, making out ab- sence slips, and filing your excuses. lt was here you received those little pink and blue slips. Your school receptionist's iob was to greet all those who visited your school daily. She also placed the many calls that were made to keep your school running smoothly. Students iam the attendance office to get their A , B ,or D excuses before they begin the day's work. Fourteen

Without your teachers there could not have been extra curricular activities. They gave of their time to make your life a happier and an enriched one. There were your class and organization sponsors who worked for your benefit. Can you ever forget those teachers who took part in the All-campus party to help your class win the Gah Tso trophy or the sponsors who worked so hard to make your organization's dance a success. These show only one side of their work. Your fac- ulty also worked to make you better citizens. This was done through directing your learning. One of the things you will probably remember about your high school years is the tests. Oh, those tests! How many nights before exams did you sit up until all hours studying and crying about how hard your teachers made you work? Remember though, they did it for your good! Many of the courses offered to the students at Mesa High were special subiects. These classes gave you not only some vocational training, but also a chance to work with your hands. A number of the boys, who hope to become top mechanics and farmers, are products of the vocational department. KENNETH P. Hsvwoon novo c. Demon LYNEER c. SMITH uuwooo c.
