Commander C. Craig Covington A graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, Nacadoches, Texas, Commander Covington received his commission from the Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island. Sea assignments for Commander Covington include tours as Weapons Officer and then Chief Engineer, USS COBBLER (SS344); Chief Engineer, USS BONEFISH (SS582); Operations Officer, USS JOSEPHUS DANIELS (CG-27); Executive Officer, USS GLOVER (FF1098); and Operations Officer, USS NEW JERSEY (BB-62). Shore assignments include Force Training Officer, for Commander Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet; and Executive Officer, Enlisted Personnel Management Center. Commander Covington is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, the Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, the Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Battle Efficiency E Ribbon with Bronze E in lieu of second award, the Navy Expeditionary Medal with Bronze Star in lieu of second award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Deployed Sea Service Ribbon with four Bronze Stars in lieu of four additional awards. Commander Covington is the son of the Reverend and Mrs. Clifford Covington of Dallas, Texas and is married to the former Beverly Carol Baird of Houston, Texas. They have one child, Cristin.

Commander Roger Lee Miller was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs. After commissioning from Officer Candidate School in October 1968, he served as Communications Officer onboard USS SAN MARCOS (LST-25) until September 1970. He graduated from Naval Destroyer School in May 1971 and subse- quently served as Engineer Officer onboard USS BUCK (DD-761 ). His other sea duty assignments have been as Commanding Officer, USS MOLALA (ATF-106), Executive Officer of USS ELLIOT (DD967) and Chief Staff Officer, Destroyer Squadron Thirty One. Commander Miller has served ashore as a Junior Officer Detailer in the Bureau of Naval Personnel and as the Gas Turbine and new Con- struction Type Desk Officer on the Staff, Commander U.S. Naval Force, Pacific Fleet. Commander Miller is a graduate of the Naval Command College, Newport, Rhode Island. His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star and Navy Achievement Medal.
