glee club There is nothing like Peck of Pickled Peppers to shoo away the drowsiness of an 8 a.m. rehearsal, glee members have discovered! But in the joy of singing together -they soon forgot that breakfast they munched as they raced for an early bus. Anyone passing by the study hall, where the club practiced twice a week, usually caught herself humming along with the seventy talented choristers, whether it was a Negro spiritual, a lilting madrigal, or a lively round, in December it might have been a French lullaby in preparation for the International Christmas Concert for their mothers. On Laetare Sunday and on Easter morning they filled the air waves with hymns as part of KCBS's Message of Faith, and at the May assembly saluted Our A NEW ARRANGEMENT: Accompanist Mary Griffin and assistant Marie McCarthy play a score for Sister Mary Inez, director, and attentive officers: Nancy Gallagher, Linda Ashworth Cpresidentj, Judy Carle, jackie O'Leary, and Carol Hourigan. Following the presentation of An Afternoon of Music with other diocesan schools at Riordan High School on April 13, the juniors suddenly found themselves the oldtimers at rehearsals, as seniors departed and the first hymn for graduation rose in solemn harmony.
