Seniors found a friend and spiritual guide in Retreat Master Father XVilliam Ryan, theology instructor at the University of San Francisco, formerly a prisoner in Red China for four years. In his memorable talks, Father addressed his audience as mothers and sisters incognitof' driving home points with various devices pulled from the fathomless depths of his cassock pocket. Father expressed every seni0r's prayer in a letter to Sister Mary Aurelia after retreat. I feel convinced, he wrote. that these young women will make the finest wives, mothers, or nuns in the country. DEAR LORD, lNIAKE THIS RE- TREAT MY BEST . . . Before the Blessed Sacrament P.
