Each Friday Mercy's equcstriennes squeeze into the station wagon for a speedy ride to Mar Vista Riding Academy. After pulling on lodpurs and tugging at boot straps, they MERCY'S MERMAIDS, laden with IDIS bags, brave crowded streetcars three times weekly to practice their swimming skills. Led by jean Connelly, swimming manager, water-lovers splashed in both the Women's City Club and the Y. XV. C. A. pools finding energy-release in rhythmic synchronized swimming. Front: joan Desmond, Maureen 72 Charcho, jackie Warman, Pat Flynn. Back: Georgina Reilly, breathlessly mount their spirited steeds for a lesson 'under the instruction of Mrs. XV. Zappetini. On December 6 the riders showed the results of these weekly excursions by placing in the Invitational Horse Show held at the academy. FIRST GRIP TI-IE POMINIEL FIRINILY . . . Rocketing off campus to out- of-doors, the GAA landed at the green, the stables, and tlse pool, exploring and enjoying San Francisco's facilities for the adventurous and energetic.
