1 champion tennis player. Altogether in athletes our abilities are excelled only by our nlental qualties.- If it comes to social qualities show me, if you can, in any other class such dudes as Brotherlin, Hinckley, Felsinger and Stoner, or such ladies' men as Branthauer, Mitkiewicz and Slagle. Among other noteworthies are Black, the inquisitive mang Kegerreis, the Dutch- man and guitarist, and his dearly beloved Rebecca 'Wagnerg Thomas, the Hercu- les of our classg Noble, the most supple man on the third floorg Straub, the non-de- script, and MAcClean and Reed, our big little men. Other classes may sing about their female members, but, although We reverence and admire all our girls and would not for the world draw class lines in such affairs, nevertheless let other classes remember that our class contains the last young lady graduates of Mercersburg College. - Such is but a partial history, a mere glimpse at the history of our noble class, which is unsurpassed and unequalled. ' ' d' fr t ur merits it would be If our history were to be written and bound accor ing o o written on the finest paper and bound in leaves of gold. No class has surpassed, and we believe no class ever will surpass us in merit. That we -excel in the class-room, on the rostrum, on the field, in fact everywhere, is acknowledged by other classes and proven by circumstances. As Seniors we have set so fast a pace that other classes have fallen way in the rear and look on us as their superiors, both mentally and physically. Some of our stars in the class-room are Neely, McCoy, Omwake, Xlfelsh, Bassler b There are also others of our class not inferior to these men. Such is the and Rau . intellectual ability of our class that it has been prophesied several times by our friends that the Class of ,97 contains many future greatsfi ln oratorical contests, debate, minor contests, etc., we have won the day and left no trace of the enemy. Such orators as Kegerreis, Lysle, Felsinger and others, and ' ' ll Cf of this such debaters as Welsli, McCoy, Hinckley, etc., are seldom heard of in co eges size.
