The game of Sophomore year may seem silly and irrelevant. To the players, however, it is anything buta... TRIVIAL PURSUIT. -Hey, I landed on the pink! What an endless stream of dos and tegory is that? -Oh, let's see . . . Entertainment! -What's my question? don'ts, of wills and won'ts. An endless stream of Trivial Pursuits. These are the Sophomores of -Who is 5'lO , sits in the back MIHS. rner of your third period class, and s the biggest crush on Beth Doe? -Oh, I know! lt's what's his fcicel mm . . . Mark . . . What's his last me? Mairk something? -Wrongo, buddy, lt's Mark ank. Jill's turn. -I rolled a three . . . one . . . two . . three . . . yellow! Read me my uestion on history! -Who was the first sophomore to be asked to Homecoming by senior? Silly people. Yes, Class of '88, this is your life, This is the class that gave new meaning to the term Scoochie Girl. The class that could honestly say they almost knew their way around pretty much most of the school. The class that learned to make a detour around that group of seniors in the hallway, even if it meant venturing outside into the pouring rain. The class that sat on the opposite side of the mushroom, but not too close to the freshmen. The class that ate up the trivial like Pop-Tarts. But, hey, it is a fairly trivial time, you know? lndubitably. What's so incredibly important about the time when one finally wakes up to the presence of the opposite sex iand any other kindl? Or the time when one can finally cruise down Island Crest Way in the Porsche? Or the time when winter and spring Tolo actually become worthwhile since parental chauffeuring has become unnecessary? You've got to be kidding. Ah yes, no respect. They may be confused with freshmen, they may seem incredibly immature, they may get under one's skin Cond feetll, but they are all ours. And they just keep playin' along. nBOVEl How many fingers am I holding up? lRlGHTl Have you seen is-Nis? 1 SOPHOMORES l47
