Dixieland Band THE REFS wish I was in Dixie, I-lurray! Hurray! ln their second year of existence, the Dixieland Band, composed of all sophomores, deserves a l-lurrayl for their efforts. With the assistance of advisor Ed Kranes, a member of the Uptown, Lowdown Dixie Band of Seattle, this group has accomplished much in the Dixieland tradition. Hey, these guys ain't just whistlin' Dixie! Participation in the Dixieland Festival in Seattle highlighted the squad's season this past fall. As a result of the popularity of Dixieland music, various private gigs provide a means of practice and proceeds for the band. With another season completed, the Dixieland Band moves one step closer to the goal of their senior year, traveling to the home of Dixie. New Orleans, here they come! And when the referee finally blows his whistle, the tunes of Dixie shall blare forth, declaring Ml's Dixieland Band another winner. Tweet-Tweet! DIXIELAND BAND l27
