l GIRLS ' TENNIS Tennis anyone??? It's lonely at the top. Continuing the tradition of pure excellence, the girls tennis team had a 12-o record. According to Coach Mills, this is one of Mercer Islands best tennis teams. Some of the success is the result of the off-season dedication on behalf of the six graduating girls who have been on the varsity team for four years. One of these, Wendy Gross, continued a three year streak, winning the King Co Singles competition. Other seniors whose consistent play has contributed to the tennis teams success are Tana Deshler, Dana Simpson, Sarah Smith, Katie Cairns, and Mindy Mounger. The graduating seniors leave their title in good hands with Amie Pederson, Cindy Olejar, Kim Hodge and Kristin Hudson. Isn't there anyone out there that can return an Islander's serve?
