Front row: Laura Meine, Denise Caraco, Kim Stern, Alison Miles, Brian Keith David Roberts It has been a year of change at the DECA Dock. When Mr. Rasmussen left, Mr. Gribble took over. When Mr. Gribble left, Mrs. Bragg took over as the DECA Dock Boss . For the first time in several years, the DECA Dock student store did not open. But this did not stop the Mercer Island DECA students from learning about marketing and distribution. Putting on a 10K run, Run from the Rain , the DECA program got moving from the sheer force of the students. The Mercer Island managers were: Sandi-Sue Young, Greg Olds, Hilary Norton, and Don Fosseen. Mercer Island also had success at the state and area levels, with Don Fosseen being elected as Washington State Administrative Vice- President and Mike Ellenhorn elected as Area II President. Even with the changes at Mercer Island DECA still had a great year. 32 DECA Our dearly departed DECA sign

The Pep Club encouraged the islanders to sink their teeth into school spirit this year. Selling Carmal apples, making posters, giving Pep baskets, and working in the concession stands during events were all contributions made by the Pep Club this year. Mrs. Curran, the club? advisor, added lots of spirit and encour- agement to keep the club going. Al- though the Pep Club sometimes is not recognized for their accomplishments, all the members have fun giving tbe school a bit of Pep! ef5g,yzsssxg?sfx -'Q-' '... '-'? 1 ,i M., .
