Basketball team of 1984- 85 was a team of talented depth. Their only loss came by one point to Juanita and the outcomes of their games were rarely in doubt. All twelve members were consistent contributors, and the ability, depth and team oriented char- acteristics would lead one to believe the future of Mercer Island Varsity Basketball is very bright. 142 I.Vf Basketball Doug Marriott, Pete Bailey, jeremy Schuffler, Bill Wmley. w -,pw ,,, .V--F .......a u ' C7 -.naman-as 5 N. 1 L l J

They weren't the most successful team in the league but it was because they were inexperienced as a team. With the help of coach Pat Strong they were very competitive. The highlight of the season was their one point victo- ry of the undefeated Renton team. The players had fun and gave it their best shot. Next year when they're sophomores they will be very impres- sive. 144 Frexbman Basketball ff' ' K MQ st e ., T1 f lf' ' : fl , 1 K' ' . v- T f::cs:f.'t 4 5 Q Q fy , ., if if 5 5-. f .11 XJ.. 7 iw? -ss is W2 .5-gf
