i 7 A DAY IN THE LIFE.. How to leave for School l Wake up. Stumble through yesterday's clothes, last week's homework and numerous dishes accumulated on your floor.. Select a damp towel off the floor and shake loose any, underwear from previous showers. Look at the clock. Real- ize you have thirty minutes and your little brother has justg locked himself inside the bathroom. Drop onto your bed and pretend to sleep. Fall asleep. Wake to your mother! pounding on the door. Claim that, Yes, you are up. Notice school has started twenty minutes ago. Decide it is not your ' fault because how can anyone be on time if being late is! waking up at BAM? Select a pair of pants from the pile in the corner. The dog is watching you. Go into the laundry room and dig for socks. Find only one clean. Wear it. The l other one is in the hallway, dirty. Wear it. Discover your untouched bookbag is under your jacket. You are now 1 ready to leave. Find your mom. Demand a ride, Does she want you to be late to second period also? Tell her you will never ask again, anyway, first period is boring. Beg. Assure her nobody will see her in her housecoat. Tell her she doesn't even have to slow down. She doesn't have to give you lunch money next week. Say, Thanks alot! when she refuses. Stomp to the door. As you leave, tell her to have a good day. Remind her, you won't. Slam the door behind you, catching it at the last second.
