QSLJSUO 1200 OLD 'VRENTON ROAD June 20, 1978 Dear Reader, A few years ago, when the world was a different place and people had priorities which seesred a little different from what they are now, VIKING was ready at graduation. This year's book will reach you a little late, not because of any problem with the publisher, but because the final task of completing the book was left to just two i.ndividuals, neither of whom had the sixty hours a week that it takes to plan, organize, produce and distribute this chapter i.n NEOC's history. Perhaps you think the book is small. How big was your contribution? Perhaps you think that too much has been left out. Perhaps there are names spelled wrong and faces incorrectly identified. Perhaps the greatest tragedy of all is that there were sirrply not enough people around who cared - except about the final product. Who do you think puts a book like this together? You were supposed to. Your activity fee helped pay for it. EH you lmow where that hunk of cash was going? Perhaps thi.s is a statement about society as a whole. Man's concern for the world he lives in is evidenced by the way in which we squander our fuel supply, pollute our rivers, air and minds, and close our eyes when sights becane too unpleasant. We leave the job of cleaning up to someone else. We leave too much to someone else. You left this yearbook to me and my faculty advisor. What does that say about the other nanbers of the class of '78? I knew sane of them frcrn classes I shared with them. I knew about two hundred of them fran the face they gave me to put in the graduates' section of this book. Who and where are t.he rest of them?
