:I Mercer's Band is, as can be seen from these candid photographs taken during a rehersal session in March, a hard working bunch. Under the leadership of David Loscalzo twho is director while john Kulpa is on sabaticalj, they play a wide variety of music far a wide variety of occasions from their annual concerts to conmwncenwnt exercises. In addition to the band, there is also a music club, a recorder group and other musically-oriented activities. 5 6: 5-T? .,, 4- xy.. -nn One ofthe most popular activities at MCCC for which a student can receive academic credit are the individualized classes in piano and guitar. Mrs. Rose Marie Flynn, Mr. Paul Schied and others co-ordinate a huge student turnout for private, personal lessons. By the end of any semester, those ear jangling noises escaping from the first floor of the AV Building have been shaped into music. 41
