The human being sees. Feels, Reacts, Is. If one doesn't, one isn't. That is the essence. To dream is lovely, fragile, sweet. To build is sturdy, real, concrete. Wish it that I might find a means for this dreamer to build much more than dreams. 4 I walked today among the rubble of my childhood, warmed my hands near the cold furnace and remembered. Remembered. One half of a dozen years from then, my heart has grown and my eyes have enveloped more than I know exists. 5 5.5' i We can be alone when we are together. That is a priceless form of friendship. Ever notice the loner in a crowd? never quite belonging, seldom fitting in. He walks a trifle bent, head slightly bowed, heart a bit pierced. When the group laughs, he turns away not sharing their laughter. Then does his crying alone. I know. there was a time once remember? time enough to say things we didn't mean and have them pass un-noticed. remember how fast our words came when there was no real need for any? but now there is and our tongues are slower than they have ever been before. Alone I have words: phrased, true, ecstatic ones With you, they baulk at leaving and stay stuck to the roof of my mouth I can only hope that you will see them in me. Come and sit with me in silence. A 12 There are times When all things cause pain. Neither books nor philosophers can cure it. Both books and philosophers start it. There are times when only the silence, the pure silence of nature can understand me. 13 How I despise you. I hate you with venom that is stronger than that of the deadliest cobra. Your kind gnaws at my chest and pounds on my mind. You and your wrinkled face, crevasses, corners, — castigation of the mind — — a clean sweep — oblivion. I despise you. I despise you. I despise you. I despise you. You've taken everything from me what else have I to feel? There is only love — nostalgia. I've learned more with and without my books. I've grown more with and without my school. I have more forever. 15 I will forget this year, just as I have forgotten other years or will forget them in time. Perhaps I will recall snatches of joy, or happiness, or distress, or pain. But I will most certainly forget this year for it is only one in a billion And what is one, when I’ve a billon more to forget? 22 Why we lose. 1. lack of experience, 2. manpower, 3. spirit? Mud scraped from the tense bodies. Sweat, think, crunch (with gracefulness) Crowd: Kill ’em! Kill 'em! Kill who? Why? For the game. For the game. Jody — thanks — 4 — everything — Linda remember the lighting booth — jjjr in memory of our friend jacob gunther Mr. Gunther loved and respected the young people of our school district. He believed in education and in youth and did all he could to encourage boys and girls to reach high goals in studies and in extracurricular activities. As a long time member of the Board of Education, he gave his time and energy to the development of the district and its schools. The students knew him best as a beloved friend who enjoyed being with them and supporting their activities. Many students knew him from the beginning of their school days at Jacob Gunther Elementary School. Many boys started playing Little League ball on the field he provided. The wrestling teams knew he would be at all their meets, with them on many trips and would enjoy a banquet with them at the end of the season. The Dramatics club and the American Field Service Club also received interested support from him. The choir, because of his love of music, he called his angels. He marked the beginning of each year with flowers and best wishes for a fine season of music. He sponsored trips out east for the Choir with a dinner at Southampton and the Choir banquet at the Swan Club was the highlight of the year. we remember mr. gunther with love and gratitude . . patron boosters Good Luck Class of 72 — Grand Drapery Service Best Wishes to the class of 72 Dairyland — Appetizing and catering Hefros — Cards.
