Mr. Herman A. Tennant Principal Our principal, Mr. Herman A. Tennant, is the man most responsible for maintaining and developing the excellence and quality that Mepham High School has attained. He has worked to build the school’s fine reputation and to improve each of its several phases, involving himself deeply in the activities and endeavors of students, and exhibiting an intense interest in their future. He is proud of the part that the high school plays in education and in the maturation of young people. Mr. Tennant graduated from Hobart College with a Bachelor’s Degree, and from New York University with a Master’s. He was a member of the faculty when Mepham opened in 1935, became principal of Merrick Avenue Junior High School in 1954, and was appointed to his position at Mepham in 1958. 30
