MR, DOENIER confers with Mr. Price on important issues. Mr. Doenier is the Assistant Principal, Deon of Boys, and a member of the Guidance Staff. Mr. Price is the Superintendent of Schools and the Principal of Mendota High School. OTIIR, PRINCIPALS OUR PRINCIPALS, Mr. Price and Mr. Doenier, exert a continuous effort to improve the standard of our school by encouraging high academic achievements, participation in extra-curricular activities and good sportsmanship, Mr. Price received his BS. and M.S. degrees from the University of Illinois, In addition to performing his duty as principal of our school, Mr. Price and his fami- ly are hosting Miss Carol R. Galvez, our foreign ex- change student. Mr. Doenier received his BA. degree at North Cen- tral College and his MA. at the University of Wiscon- sin. Mr. Doenier schedules all activities, counsels stu- dents With respect to their academic programs, and handles disciplinary problems. Mr. Price and Mr. Doenier are sincerely interested in the Welfare of the students of Mendota High. A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR is the result of Wise judgment and careful planning. Seldom do We have a chance to extend our appreciation to the men who have helped give us an education, the school board. Its duty is to oversee all school affairs and to act on recommendations presented by our superintendent, Mr. Price. The school board is the taxpayers' voice in the management of Mendota High School, The school board is responsible for changes in the curriculum, additions to the faculty, and appropriating funds tor the materials that are necessary for the effec- tive operation of our school. Mr. I. W. Price, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Tully Heubner, Secretary-Business Manager, regularly meet with the board. Mr. Heubner joined the Mendota High School staff this year. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Education at Western Illinois University. As business manager, Mr. I-Ieubner performs the duties of purchasing school supplies, filing state and federal reports, and main- taining the general upkeep of the school plant. New on this year's board is Mr. Lee Bunton. Mr. Dean Otterbach served as president of the school board for the past year. THE SECRETARIES are essential to the efficiency of the school system. ln the business office, Mrs. Canepa, who is a personal secretary to Mr, Price, reads an- nouncements over the P.A. system and operates the switchboard, in addition to assisting Mrs. Bader, who Writes checks and handles all other financial records and statements. As secretary in the Student Affairs office, Mrs. Rade- feld is Well-known to most of the students. She is per- sonal secretary to Mr. Doenier, but also assists the guidance staff. During football and basketball season, Mrs. Radefeld is engrossed in her duty of selling tickets to out-of-town games and typing bus lists. She checks absentees, duplicates transcripts, and performs other duties such as preparing the honor roll and the school calendar. ,K MRS. BETTY RADEFELD is the secretary in the Student Affairs Office. service to the students at Mendota High School. They are responsible for the high school testing programs and both entrance and scholarship qualifying exami- nations. They always Welcome students and their problems, and there is no doubt the efforts of the guid- ance staff are appreciated. 9 THE GUIDANCE STAFF performs an indispensible MR. DOENIER, Mr. Morgan, and Miss Payne make up the Guidance Stuff at Mendota High School.
