As time passes, only fond memories of classmates will remain in the hearts of students. Pictures of happiness, joys, and triumphs added to the treasury of golden moments of the youthful years at school will, we hope, be treasured in these pages. As the endless monotony of time tries to erase these memories from your heart, we trust that the pages of this book will help you relive the faded moments of the past and recall your days at MENARD. Do you know what responsibility those words place on your shoulders? A RESPONSIBILITY TO GOD. During your formative years you have had the best efforts of Religious Men to instruct you in your duties to your Creator. How well you have absorbed those principles will be watched by all those with whom you come in contact. From you they will expect more than from the ordinary graduate. Can you live up to those expectations? A RESPONSIBILITY TO YOUR PARENTS. Your parents have a right to expect much from you. For many years they have nurtured you, worried over you, gone without things so that you might have those things which they thought necessary for you. How are you going to repay them for all this? You will make them happy by living up to those principles taught you during your years at Menard. Can you live up to their expectations? A RESPONSlBlLlTY TO YOUR SCHOOL. Every school expects its graduates to carry on through life those principles inculcated during the school years. More so, at Menard. your teachers have been Religious dedicated to youth for the glory of God. The-v have a right to expect to see those principles flourish in the high school graduates. Without this. the teaching profession would be a most uninteresting vocation. Can you live up lo llzese expectations? A RESPONSIBIUTY TO YOUR CLASSMATES. Together you have borne the struggles of high school programs. Your close associations have made you interested in each other. Now. with graduation. each one is eyeing the other to see what success lies ahead. Can you live up to this expectation? And now. Graduates. my most fervent prayer will be that you will be able to shoulder these responsibilities. Congratulations on your present achievementg may greater ones be in store for you.
