KNEELING: Malcolm Hebert, Charles Gremillion, Soffbaff and Kenna Menarcl's first official softball team in years was organized right after mid-term. Though it didn't get to practice very often, you would never have known it, if you could have seen its performance at the Central Rally, where it lost by only one point. Tennis was upheld this year by the sole efforts of Gene Glankler. But don't think that he clidn't make up for the little team that wasn't there , even by himself. Gene attended the Central Louisiana Rally and came in second with a silver medal. More power to you, Genel GENE GLANKLER

The team was small, being dwarfed most of the time by its opponents, but proved itself to be a scrappy aggregation, by its record. The boys won six games, and lost five. High point man for the season was Charlie DiStefano who tallied up lOC points, The opponents' total score was 256 while M-enard's was 289. Although track does not play an important part in inter-school competition, other than the rally, it is the one sport that prepares its followers for all the others. lncidentally, Menard did well at the Central Louisiana Rally: Aubrey Blank won two first places, with gold medals. Handball is quite a sport at Menard-the reason being the brick walls everywhere. At right are our Singles and Doubles Champions. The Singles Champfon is Roy Gravel, seen serving, standing together are Bobby Riche and P a ul Delacroix, Doubles Champs.
