The crowning glory of a Menard graduate is to be admitted to the Mu Eta Sigma Honor Fraternity. A Menardian labors for this great distinction during his entire tour years in high school. Points are awarded for proficiency in schoolwork, participation in athletics, sodality work and all other extra-curricular activities. At the end of his senior year these points are tabulated. It the student is in the upper third of his class, he is given a gold pin, emblematic of his school spirit. MU ETA SIGMA

To be eligible a student must have merited an honor rating-at least eighty-tive per cent, in all sub- jects-tor three out ot the tirst tour school terms. This is not easy, Diary. Conway, Chaplain. is the motto of the Boy Scouts of America. Menard believes in preparing its students for an active citizen- ship, and we know of no better means than through the Boy Scout movement. Hence, under the spirited leadership of Mr. E. L. Gremillion, scout master, Troop 9 was organized last year. At present the troop flourishes. lt is one of the most active in the whole Attakapas Council area, as witnessed by the many calls rnade upon it this year, by the city of Alexandria: parades, football ushering, flag- raising, street patrol duty, etc. Menard's Scouts, Troop 9 opened National Scout Week with a pro gram over the local station KALB
