Sodafify Slfiqkfiqlzfs were many and varied this year, Diary. O accept, Heavenly Mother, our puny efforts to make our lives better, fuller, richer and more pleasing to Him! Yes, our Sodality record book is closed again for another year. Between its covers the skits, activities, meetings, conventions, all the little personal things we don't want to forget are written. Varied are the activities included in the past year's work, the distribu- tion of Catholic literature at the military camps, Christ- mas card sale, carol singing, baskets and toys for the poor, frequent visits, lenten drive, parties, little sacri- fices, First Fridays, Sodality Sundays, ..... OLD' GXQSSES Lord of all he surveys, Brother Firmin, the little dictator of the Commercial classes, smiles in approbation at the perfect rhythm of his star typists. Parlez vous francais, Diary? lNeither do wel, so guess you're not interested in this group. Even though Spanish has been introduced into the school, Brother Lionel ruled sway over a goodly number of budding Parisians. Ah, what memories, this scene provokes, - broken test tubes, spilled acid and unexpected explosions. lt took Brother Camille all year to teach us that hot Bunsen burners can't be picked up with bare hands, but we learnedl A book of verse beneath the bough, well not beneath a bough, but in the library. Some of the fullest and happiest hours at Menard were spent under Brother Malachy's paternal care. And when we Came to the end of a perfect day a teacher, counselor and friend was always ready to listen, sympathize and help .... .

A SANDWICH SALE UPPER: THE VENETIAN BLINDS BOTTOM1 MOTHERS' CLUB AT MEETING Q08 jdgif mofkers but especially Menard mothers, Diary! The whole school-building has taken on a more refined atmosphere due to the generosity of these devoted ladies, when they footed the bill for a set of Venetian blinds for each window in the -school. Menardians frequently were afforded the rare opportunity of a home-cooked hot lunch right on the school grounds, this past yea r, and often had the privilege of being chaperoned by their dear mothers at their school socials. Diary, I could just go on and on about our great Mothers' Club, cake sales, rummage sales, the scout banquet, socials, improvements here and there . . .
