President, Bruce Shroyer, plans the Freshman activities with the help of Nelle Nuckolls, Secretaryg Paul Davis, Treasurer, Joe Hill, Sergeant-at- Arms, and Marcy Ruyl, Vice President. Class of '57 It's Septemberg wide-eyed fresh- men enter Central and soon become lost in its maze of halls and class- rooms. They find that grades are earned, not given, and at first are bewildered by all the time and effort they must exert. Soon the busy newcomers are caught in the whirl of elections, intramurals, and parties. By June, after facing the toughest part of the year-exams- the Freshmen are ready to become Sophomores and to carry on the great traditions of Central. MISS CRENSHAW Class of '57 This development during the Freshman year is but the beginning of a longer and greater develop- ment that will continue during their remaining years at Central. Freshmen learn that the acquaint- ances they make are a vital part of their life at Central. As they familiarize themselves with its teachers, rules, and customs, they learn to accept responsibilities, pre- paring themselves for those which are to come.
