The Distrihutive Education Clubs of America are organized to carry out principles of youth leadership in fields of merchandising and marketing. Annual meetings at the local, state, and national levels select students who dis- play the best attributes in these fields. In addition the election of officers for each level brings recognition to the students and to the schools. National Honor Socle ly holds orgamz atlonal mee tlng The Memorial High School Chapter of the National Honor Society was es- tablished to recognize and encourage scholarship, well as the other person- ality traits: Character, Leadership and Service. A national meeting of second- ary school principals in 1921 proposed the first charter and chapter in their search for means to honor their best- achieving student citizens. Merrrhership is granted after proof by students main- taining the high standards in the cited four qualities.
