Lots of hard practice - - - pays off Band Puts School On Map Our Memorial High School band has a dual function . . . providing instruction to the students and representing the school. The former is the more important function, and has been fulfilled by Mr. Elizondo in an exemplary manner. The second function, of representation, has been met hy appearances at athletic events,. at parades, festivals, and at meetings such as the Parent-Teachers Association, and at other functions for which music is desired. Highlights of the year were the bandis appearances at the Convention Center for the District Festival, the Laredo W ashingtonls Birthday celebration, and two appearances at the Hemisfair to entertain its visitors from the world around.
