He is a distinguished man in many fields. Every task to vhich he gives him- self is left better than he finds it. The Medical College of ' irginia in its ever increasing usefulness to every commimity in ' irginia and t many other states probably owes far more to Dr. McGuire than to any other man. J. R. McCauley Since June, 1904, Mr. J. R. McCauley has been an able and tireless member of the staff of the Medical College of ' ir)i;inia, and now its Secretary-Treasurer. He has grown as the institution has grown, friendly and helpful to the student body, beloved by the alumni, and highly esteemed by the faculty and Board of Visitors. No undertaking has seemed too large and no day too long when the welfare of the college was involved. Students have recognized with appreciation Mr. McCaulev ' s re- quirement that they be business-like in meeting their obligations and have profited by his patient counsel and aid in fulfilling these obligations.
