F f if -T vi T 1 Giving his best wishes to Mr. Leslie Tripp, principal, and Mr. Sam Hamilton, assistant principal, is Mr. James NN. Smith, former principal of Mechanic Arts. Mr. Tripp took over the duties of head of Mechanic Arts alter the resignation ot Mr. Smith last June. Mr. Tripp had been assistant principal for two years. Mr. Hamilton graduated from Mechanic Arts in l92l. After that he went to the University ot Minne- sota and received a degree in electrical engineering and then went to Chicago as editor of a technical magazine. In T936 he started his teaching career at Stillwater. In T937 he taught physics at Johnson High. During the war he had a cvilian position in the War Training Service, training army pilots. Last year he taught physics at Harding. Mechanic Arts welcomes back two former teachers. Mrs. Gretchen Schampel, English teacher, returned after almost a year and a halt's absence. She taught at Monroe last year. Mrs. Geralidne Raymond, art and handicraft teacher and director of the stage force, returned to Mechanics after teaching at Hum- boldt tor several years. Mechanic Arts also welcomes three new people to the faculty, Miss Jeanne Kenmore, choir teacher, Miss Edith Olson, librarian, and Mrs. Catherine Kirk- wood, vocational teacher.
