G FRIENDS Raul Gomez - leanie's Mexican brother. Here at home it may seem strange to think of Jeanie wearing huge sombreros and eating tamales and tacos for breakfast, but for her the year she is spending in Xalapa, Mexico, as an exchange student, will be one of the greatest experiences of her lifetime. leanie writes of warm sunny days, where donkeys and horses are a typical sight on the little cobblestone streets. In her Mexican family, jeanie has five brothers and one sister, besides her mama and papa . She has had much to learn be- cause of her lack of background in the Spanish language and CuStOmS, but she has gained wide experience with the help of her family and Mexican friends. leanie in sunny Xalapa. Arriving at M.H.S. in january, Raul Gomez brought Mexican flair. Com- ing from Xalapa, Mexico, the Wash- ington weather has really been a shock to him. Raul is currently living with the Wilson family in Lynnwood. It has been a new and interesting experience for him to arrive in the U.S. speaking little English. His stay will terminate in September when he goes back to start college in Mexico.
