Making certain that there would be variety, the members of the CHIEFTAIN staff included in the paper ev- erything from want ads to views on local, state, and national problems, such as law enforcement and the draft. Not only did the CHIEFTAIN carry coverage of many impor- tant events here at school, but it was also open to various student opinions. Organiz- ing and putting together a newspaper was a busy task for each one involved, but the end result has been a real credit to M.H.S. 'N

The year was started off with a big ice-cream feed at Ferrells', and went on to produce unusual experiences time and again like when Steve, Bruce, and Dave were trapped in the courtyard, and when monkeys invaded the dark room! Throughout all of this, underly- ing purposes kept the staff together and busy - creating the '68-'69 Mesika. A typical active afternoon!
