ATHLETIC BANQUET The theme of the 1966 Athletic Banquet was Shining Gems; Glowing Crowns. The gym was decorated in the traditional school colors of red and white. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Jack Larson. Guest speaker was Mike Corgan, backfield coach for the University of Nebraska. The triple trio sang I'll Not Marry at All and the trio sang It's a Grand Night for Singing. Coach Karl Adamson presented the football, basketball, and track awards; Mr. Victor Graham presented the volleyball awards; and Miss Nancy Gatewood presented the pep club awards. At the close of the Banquet the cheerleaders for 1966-67 were announced. They are JaNelle Horrocks, Karren Praeuner, Linda Werner, and Bonnie Praeuner. The meal was prepared by mothers of the pep club girls and served by the 7th and 8th graders. After the Banquet, films of the University of Nebraska's games were shown. 28

JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM Entrance Apple Tree APPLE BLOSSOM TIME' The theme of the 1966 Junior-Senior Prom was Apple Blossom Time. The walls were done in pink and white, with the ceiling done in blue and white. Bordering the gym were alternating flower planters containing artificial carnations and benches done in artificial brick. The highlight of the decorations was an apple tree in bloom in the center of the gym. The waiters and waitresses were Dennis Lyall, Bob Sparr, Dennis Suckstorf, Greg Schwartz, Benny Wyatt, Debi Horrocks, Bonnie Praeuner, Shirley Hummer, Mariann Galyen and Linda Werner. Garry McIntosh was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. He introduced Nancy Verplank who gave the welcome and Mary Odland who gave the response. Entertainment for the evening was chosen from the Sophomore class. It consisted of entertainment at garden parties in the Twentieth Century. Linda Werner sang It's Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White. Debi Horrocks and Greg Schwartz did the Waltz; Karla Werner and Valerie Fogleman did the Charleston; and Shirley Hummer and Dennis Lyall did a modern dance. After the entertainment, a dance was held with a juke box to furnish the music. 30 THANK YOU, JUNIORS
