Each sport was represented by a silhouette of a player. Stars, representing the participants in the sport, surrounded each silhouette. The pep club sponsors. Miss Gatewood and Mrs. Rhodus, are viewing the stars through a telescope. (below) The table decorations are shown below also. The theme of the 1965 Athletic Banquet was A Night With The Stars. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Queen JoDene Halsey and King Terry Stout. The attendants were Katrena Murray, Kenny Monson, Carol Kuchar, Tom Ziehmer, Karen Kouba, and Doug Droescher. Crownbearers were Leslie Ann Lieswald and Danny Warnke. Bill Pratt was master of ceremonies for the evening. Leslie Livingstone, the basketball coach at Kearney State College, was speaker and gave an interesting speech on discipline in physical fitness. The letters were given to the athletes by Coaches Osorno and Graham. Miss Gatewood gave the pep club members their letters. The 7th and 8th graders served as waiters and waitresses for the meal.

THE FIRST JUNIOR - SENIOR On May 8, 1965, the seniors were taken by the juniors through the door into the Stork Club,” This was the theme for the Junior -Senior Banquet and Prom. The meal of seven courses was served by six waiters dressed in suits and bow ties. The sophomore girls, dressed in short black skirts and black leotards passed out cigars and other favors to the guests after the meal. The president of the Junior Class, Norma Lulow, welcomed the seniors and Terry Stout, Senior Class President gave the response. A floor show was then held featuring Louis Armstrong, played by Gary McIntosh. Darrel Schmidt then sang GTO and Last Kiss accompanied by Terry James. The Baron Five, a band from Madison, played for the prom. Punch and cookies were served by the juniors. Norma Lulow-Junior Class President Terry Stout - Senior Class President 30 A White Sport Coat And A Pink Carnation, I'm All Dressed Up For The Prom.
