SOPHOMORE HISTORY We, the seniors of 1956, began our high school career in the fall of 1952. In October we underwen' initiation and survived to become full-fledged Trojans. We started the year by electing officers who were as follows: President, Nancy Falconer; Vice President, Irene Hasenpflug; Secretary, Barbara O’Ban-ion; Treasurer, Shirley Mather; and news Reporter, Dale McClatchey. Mr. Chaney was our sponsor. Bonna Monson joined us for a short time. In the fall of 1953 we came back to become sophomores. We started the year by electing officers. They are as follows: President, Layton Wauer; Vice President, Dale McClatchey; Secretary, Nancy Falconer; Treasurer, Leona DeCamp; and News Reporter, Janet Synovec. During the year we had a hayrack ride to the Yellow Banks. Barbara O’Banion and Janet Synovec were chosen for second team cheerleaders. We gained two new students-JoAnne Stuckrath of Pierce and June Duchow of Grants Pass, Oregon. But in return we lost Irene Hasenpflug. Mr. Anderson was our sponsor. So far we have enjoyed high school a lot and look forward to the next two years. -Nancy Falconer FRESHMAN HISTORY On September 7, 1953, seventeen bewildered freshmen entered Meadow Grove High School. To begin the year, the election of class officers was held. The results were as follows: President, Michael Daniel; Vice President, Robert Odland; Secretary, Kay Wilson; Treasurer, Rebeca Hamley; and News Reporter, Carole Horrocks. Mr. Larson was our sponsor. Robert Odland, Larry Linse, and Ralph McClatchey participated in football during the season. All the freshman boys tried out for basketball, and we are proud to say that Larry Berg was selected as a member of the first ten. Rebeca Hamley and Karen Novotny were chosen for the freshman cheerleaders for the second team. During the fourth six weeks, Joyce Duchow entered our class. Kay Wilson
