CLASS HISTORY We, the remaining nineteen juniors of '53 on September 7, once again filed into the old assembly, (slow and not sure.) We had the same number as we had as sophomores. However, as freshmen we had 24. We elected our class officers as follows: President, Dean Howard; Vice-President, Albert Nelson; Secretary, Barbara Dreger; Treasurer, Kermit Larson and News Reporter, Janet Warrick. Mr. Merklinger was once again our sponsor for the year. During .the first semester we had a hayrack ride which turned out to be quite a On December 1, we presented the class play, The Whole Town's Talking , a farce comedy in three acts, with Mr. Larson as our sponsor. The story concerned a false love affair between Chester Binney, a slovenly, carelessly dressed, impolite, drudge, with Letty Lythe, a famous movie queen. The girls who were chosen as cheerleaders from our class were Janet Warrick and Jean Monson. Several of the boys from our class made the football and basketball teams as did many of the girls the volleyball team. On May 7, we gave the seniors a beautiful Junior-Senior Banquet, which 1 am sure, we all enjoyed. As we near the end of this year, we are looking anxiously toward the next year which will be the last step toward our goal-GRADUATION. The road to success is a long and tiresome one, but we have finished three years and should survive our last year, the one which will seem the shortest.
