CLASS PROPHECY In the year of I960, a few years after the class of 1954 had graduated, I decided to take a trip to see how all the members of the class were coming along. So I climbed aboard my space cruiser and took off into space. The first planet Handed on was Mars. To my astonishment I met Kay CBanion, Joe Sanne, and Jim Holton, who had joined the Space Patrol of Uncle Sam. The next planet I stopped on was Uranus. There I saw LaRene Pierce, who was operating a cafe and selling spaceburgers to the people on Uranus. While cruising between planets on my trip, I turned on my spaceovision and saw Roger Weiting with his wife. He was now a famous comedian. I next landed on the moon. There I saw Ronald Gast running around with a magnifying glass studying specimens of moon bugs. After I took off from the moon, I was passed by BobMcKnight in his suped-up flying saucer, which won the Kentucky Derby last year. I next stopped on the planet of Venus. I was surprised when I saw Delores Nelson and her husband, running a hotel. As I walked out of the hotel, I saw Jo Ann Glaze and Margaret Shenshew, who were the only space patrolwomen in the Solar System. I was also surprised when I saw the mechanic working on my cruiser was Daniel Denny. As I landed on Saturn I was met by Marilyn Daniel and her husband. Her husband was a big business tycoon on Saturn. Marilyn told me that Janice Dreger was an old maid living with her sister and brother-in-law up in the hills. I asked Marilyn who lived on the little planet I had passed on my way to Saturn. She told me Joan Weerts was living there doing valuable research work for the militia. I landed on Mercury next and was met by Bill Wilson and Dick Wyatt, who told me they had gone to Norfolk Junior College and had become famous space engineers. My next stop was Jupiter. There I saw Patty Anderson and Marian Fuller rescuing mountain climbers from avalanches with their St. Bernard dog teams. A short distance from Patty and Marian I met Charlette Ellis and Dixie Ferry, who were teaching school on Pluto. They were teaching girls how to catch a man. I then took off for home. A few thousand miles from Earth I met Maynard Mozer, as usual cruising around at late hours with his girl. I then was on home base, which was Earth.
