DAYS HAPPENINGS 6:30 The sun rises on old Meadow Grove for another day. 7:00 Adams rises, seems Jr. wants his breakfast. 7:15 Merklinger crawls out of bed to warm Anita Jean's milk--seems he never can get rested. 7:30 Switzer enters the school house to start a lire. 8:00 Ralph S. manages to start the old scHool bus for another trip across the Nebraska prairies. 8:30 Seen: a blur of blue and green, Chaney and Merk seeing who can get to school first (Then they tell us we shouldn't drive fast.) 8:45 Ah! Everything must have gone O. K., Switzer right on time with the busy-beaver country kids. 8:55 Students decide they'd better go to school. 9:00 Merk takes roll. 9:10 Well, here he comes at last, John ambles in with excuse. Doodlebug wouldn't start. (No gas) 9:35 Lewis boys finally arrive. (Excuse, Model T had a bad coil, ran in the ditch, and had a flat tire.) 10:00 Seniors and Juniors leave for Physics class to study some more of Miss Duthie’s Home Ec. 10:30 Allan Buehner and Miss Duthie get into an argument on which weighs most, a pound of gold or a pound of feathers. 10:45 Fire bell rings-Stanley started a fire on his typewriter. (Another love letter to Donna Rae?) 10:50 Some Junior and Senior boys are requested to leave Physics. 11:10 Sudden hush over Room 6--everybody is trying to catch up on bookkeeping. 12:00 Merk nods his head and everybody rushes out. O Banion's car is packed for the White Way. 12:55 Bell rings-wonder where everybody is? 1:00 Big three strut in. 1:01 Here come those Senior boys at last. 1:05 Adams has an announcement to make-seems the girls have been wearing jeans but that s alright if they want to be manhandled--and boys who drive cars please turn in keys. Seems someone has been driving recklessly. 1:30 Delicious aroma throughout the school--must be the Home Ec. girls. 2:05 Jimmy stands Bobby in a water-gun fight. 2:10 Stanley is requested to sit up in the front of the room bv Miss Duthie. 2:15 Adams comes in to restore order. All right, you lazy loafers, get to work. 2:45 Seniors leave for English class-5A's, lOD's, 31 s-Oh! That Grammar. 3:30 Boys go to Athletics-listen to Sizzling tell about his touchdown-Girls go to music- What harmony!” 4:00 Bell rings-Everybody goes home except the triple trio who must stay to practice with Miss Duthie. 4:30 Bus packed again to go back to the Nebraska prairie. 5:00 Teachers stagger home to take a sedative. 5:30 Coach Chaney leads his 6 man team off the field.
