One day as I was browsing through the library in New York City, I ran across an interesting looking book called The Nifty Seniors of 50 by a famous author, Pat Daniel. Rapidly I turned the pages until I came to a chapter on The Whereabouts of My Former Classmates. Here I read that Joyce Austin was happily marrTed and she and Arlan own their own farm at Madison. They raise sun-flowers and guinia pigs. They are quite successful. I read also that Boyd Boyer owns a large manufacturing plant in New York. He manufactures rubber bands for all the Freshmen of M.G.H.S. (No one else would think of using themI) as you know, Pat Daniel is now a famous author and has written many books of such great intelligence as Mother Goose Ryhmes and Winston's First Reader. She is also a very successful registered nurse, writing is Just a sideline. Virgil Hiatt is a famous singer at the Stork Club, His nickname is muscle throat Monroe. Norman Kuntze is now coach of a midget basketball team in Texas. He is really an OUTSTANDING coach. I read on and discovered that Gloria Kohl is an interior decorator in New York. It seems she goes in for polka dots wall paper, striped upholstering and checked rugs. I forgot to mention she decorates at a very honorable institution, the N. Y. sanitorium. JoAnn Bishop is now a successful teacher in Arizona. She teaches homing pigeons to fly to Stromboli with flour and bring back dough. Wanda Lewis is head of the United States Mine Workers of Pennsylvania just like Uncle John L. Reading on I found that Fred Lewis and wife Daphne are in charge of housing administration at the South Pole. They live in an igloo they themselves built and live on love-blubber. Wilma Lyall has long since given up teaching in favor of bookkeeper and saleslady at the Chicago Lumber Company. Raymond McClatchey is a fill-in for the Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy down in deep Tennessee. Business appears to be good. Jack Warrick of course is carrying on his Dad's lumber business. He is now married and has a little John Wesley Warrick the IVth. I was surprised to learn that Ruth Koenig runs a lonely hearts club in California. Her slogan is Making matches may start a flame. LaVerne Mozer is a bookkeeping teacher at MGHS. It seems she has the most difficult class since the Class of $0, but she seems to be standing up well under the strain. Kenny Pratt is a deep-sea diver. His life is very exciting and he reports having several dates with golden-haired mermaids. I read on and in the next paragraph discovered that Junior Monson now runs a charm school for meek, bashful men with inferiority complexes in Arkansas. Junior says that he himself begin that way all through his younger years can sympathize with them greatly. Perry Osborne now has a tobacco farm in Virginia we find him sitting on his veranda, while his wife and the pickaninnies were out tending the tobacco fields. Ruth Sparr is now married to Don Shenshew and runs a beauty shop for ravishing redheads in Rhode Island. She also has a hatchery. Her main line of chickens is Rhode Island Reds. I turned the last page and found that Mrs. Steffen, our faithful sponsor, has retired from the teaching profession as she can't go on without her Senior Class. Closing the cover of the book, I felt a sort of lon-llness come over me and I wished that I could be back in M.G.H.S. with my good old class again. P. S. We also want to mention that Joyce Werner is now happily married and the mother of a little Hoffart.
