MGHSI946 Day’s Happenings 9:00 Bell rings. 9:01 Arnold arrives. 9:02 Marcella comes in. 9:03 Mrs. Gaskill sneaks in the typing room. 9:15 The night before has been thoroughly discussed. 9:16 Mr. Lee: “O.K., you guys, you still have 5 minutes to study.” 9:20 Frosh rush for general science class. 9:25 Bill, Darrell, and Jim pick themselves up off the floor. Got in the freshmen’s way again. 9:40 Senior typists still talking. 9:55 Seniors start typing. 10:00 Typing class is over. 10:05 Seniors stop typing. 10:10 Geography students are all late again. 10:15 Juniors start typing. 10:30 Waste paper basket in typing room filled. 10:50 Mr. Lee starts reading paper. 11 :00 Norman, Milton, and Shorty have to write 250 words. 11:20 Shorthand gab-session. 11:45 Senior girls start taking dictation. 12:00 Rush for Carl’s Cafe. 12:10 Donna’s late for work again. 12:30 ' Students start for school. 12:55 Students arrive at school. 1:00 Louie starts repairing car. 1:10 Lee finishes dinner. 1:15 Lee trots in. 1:20 Louie arrives at last (greasy). 1:30 Dickie spilled her ink in bookkeeping class again. 1 :45 Gladys and Marjorie get out of class because they had their lesson. Lucky girls. 2:10 A delicious aroma rises from the home ec. room. 2:15 Fire!! Fire!! Oh, a false alarm. Just something burning in the home ec. room. i 3:00 Have the boys in math, got their lesson? 3:20 Mad rush for the baseball field. 3:25 What’s all the terrible noise? Oh, yes, there’s music today. 3:30 Mr. Kaul’s sleeping again. 4:00 You are excused. Please pass one row at a time and don’t run down those steps. 4:05 Bus is at the curb. What a scrambled up pile, those poor little grade students. Are they all O.K.

October 31— LeRoy the Wizard”. Poor Bill and Darrell. November 6—Mr. P. W. Preston made a speech entitled Character November 22-23—Thanksgiving vacation. November 26—Dickie is still eating. November 29—Dorothy Bennett Players. November 30—Junior Class Play. Campus Quarantine”. George and Irene acted as though they meant that tender embrace. December 7—Flu on the rampage. December 8—School dismissed on account of flu. December 14—First basketball game with Oakdale here. We lost by 2 points. December 24—Christmas vacation starts. January 2—Everyone back in school. What did you get for Christmas?” January 7—Louie made a bet with Mrs Gaskill that we lose our Battle Creek game. January 8—Played basketball with Battle Creek at Battle Creek. We won. January 10—Seniors went to Albion to have graduation pictures taken by Mac McGraw. January 11—Played Tilden there. We won. Whoopeee!!! January 13—Mrs. Gaskill tried to collect bet from Louie. No success. January 15—Played Oakdale there. We lost. January 21—Played Petersburg there. We won. January 22—Boys talk about their new friends in Petersburg. January 23—Mrs. Gaskill still trying to collect her bet. January 25—Played Elgin here. We lost. January 28—Norfolk Freshmen vs. Meadow Grove Reserves. We lost. January 29—Played Newman Grove th-re. We lost by a score of 28-29. Played over-time. January 30 Who’s the cute blonde cheerleader from Newman Grove? February 1—Tilden here. We lost. February 2—Played Norfolk Reserves. We lost. February 6-7—Cornbelt Tournaments. Played Tilden. We lost. February 10—Mrs. Gaskill still trying to collect her bet. February 12—Clearwater beat us on their floor. February 13—Norfolk Freshman vs. Meadow Grove Reserves. We lost. February 14—Basketball team gets a valentine from Petersburg. February 15—Played Newman Grove here. We w'on. The cheerleaders would have to go home right after the game. February 19—Played Elgin there. We lost. Girls met Louie’s cousin. February 20—Mrs. Gaskill tries again to collect her bet. February 22—Played Madison here. We won. What was that? A football game or a basketball game. February 25—Played Petersburg here. We won. February 26—Mac was here to take more pictures. February 27-28-March 1-2—Class D tourna- ments. Played Sacred Heart. We lost. March 14-15-16—State Basketball Tournaments. Lost Weekend”. March 21—Curtis Publishing Company. We became salesmen again. March 28—Senior Play. April’s Fool’’. Now we have to study again. April 8—Dean McIntyre from Norfolk Junior College. Guidance talk. April 9—Ray Bryan from Wayne State. Talk to Senior Class. Coronation. Oh. my, look at all the pretty formats. April 10—Norfolk Junior College choir. April 11—Grade school operetta. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. April 17—Baseball with Newman Grove. (Here) April 24—Music-ale. April 25—-Baseball with Newman Grove. (There) April 26—Music Contest. Boys have field day. No girls in school. April 30—Slouch Day. Everyone is comfortable in old clothes. May 3—Junior-Senior banquet. May 6—Mrs. Gaskill finally gave up trying to collect her bet. May 9—Sneak Day. Where are those seniors again. Oh. yes, sneak day. May 10—Last day of school for seniors. Just got back in time for school from sneak day. May 12—Baccalaureate. May 16—Commencement.
