Third row—Daphne Collins, Glendoris Van Dieken, Eileen Munger, Corrine Holtman, Barbara Hansen. Jer Collins and Clarabelle Terry. The Glee Club consisted of eighteen girls, directed by Miss Betty Stauffer. Musical groups other than the glee club were Trio, Sextette, and Triple Trio. The Music Department presented a Musicale on April 24 in the High School Auditorium. Girls Glee Club, Sextette, Triple Trio, and the Trio entered the District Music Contest at O'Neill April 26. “Chorale from Finlandia”, “Kye Song of Saint Bride” were the numbers chosen for the contest by the chorus. The Sextette sang, “Deep in My Heart” and “Kentucky Babe”. The Triple Trio chose “Sympathy” and “Lullaby”. The Trio presented “The Green Cathedral” and “I Passed By Your Window”. Myra Hauge. alto, sang “I Heard a Forest Praying” and “My Task”; Donna Lenz, second soprano, presented “When You’re Away”; while the soprano solo, A Brown Bird Singing”, was sung by Glendoris Van Dieken. The following ratings were received at the Music Contest held April 26 at O’Neill, Neb.: Dickie Van Dieken was awarded superior; Donna Lenz, good; Myra Hauge, superior in the solo entries. The trio received superior; sextette, excellent; and glee club, superior. The Sextette consisted of Rubee Collins, Glendoris Van Dieken, Donna Lenz, Corrine Holtman, Myra Hauge and Jen Collins. Jo Ann Gast was accompanist for the Glee Club. Triple Trio, and Sextette. Miss Betty Stauffer played for the trio and solo work.

M G H S 1946 Basket Ball Basketball season found the Trojans with eight lettermen, namely R. Werner, I). Schurman, Ferry, A. Werner, Pugh, Weerts, McClatchey Coach Lee’s excellent instruction led the boys on to a pretty successful season, with seven wins out of eighteen games. Whether they won or lost the boys were good sports and played for the sake of the game. The record for the year was as follows: We They December 14 Oakdale ..............................
