Sec- and just now SENIOR CLASS HISTORY —— In the fall of ’38, 27 untrained soldiers formed rank and marched into school under these commandin'? officers: President, Willard Wegner; Vice Frcsident, Timothy Terry; retary Tr., Darvin Kohl; Sergeant at Anns, Lucille Lewis; Sponsor, Mr. Quiller. Two soldiers broke rank Donald Zierke and Billy Hash but over the hill we were joined by Velma Clemens. Our company had 26 members. The following fall we again formed rank for our second conquest —two new soldiers fell into step, Bob Cline and Darrel Skeels. Our new commanding officers were: President, Eileen Berg; Vice President, Donna Weik; Sec. Tr., Pauline Schilling, and Sponsor, Mr. Andrews. Before really going into maneuvers we lost Darrel Skeels and Velma Clemens but Jay Wilson signed up making our Company number 27. The third year we started our Conquest of the Junior Grade. We were a little handicapped by our loss of two able soldiers, Cecil White and Donald Carpenter leaving only 25 but we were under capable guidance of our officers: President, Jay Wilson; Viee-Pres., Donna Weik; Sec. Tr., Letha Buffington; and Sponsor, Misses West and Anderson. Our most complicated maneuver of this year was the play “Deacon Dubbs”. On our fourth and last Conquest we began with 22 well-trained soldiers but we lost our sponsor and guiding officer Mr. Bornhoft who is now in officers training in the Coast Guard. Our commanding officers are: President, Reed Dye; Vice-Pres., Lo Gene Collins; and Sec.Tr., LaVona Pugh. Class Motto: Knockers never win: Winners never knock. Class Colors: Blue and Silver Class Flower: Talisman Rose Our final maneuvers, our Senior Class Play and Sneak day, were executed as only well trained soldiers can after conquering fouv grades. Our reward, the Jr.-Sr. Banquet amply filled our ranks with cherished memories. We are at the finishing line and soon each soldier will become an able officer of his own life. —Donna Weik
