Big Brothers and Big Sisters were seniors who adopted a 6 freshman just to be a friend and a good lis- tener. Companionship H was very important when one had a prob- lem. The0Physical Educa- tion department used S mentor students dur- ing P. E. classes in var- ious capacities. Other leaders had lab assis- tants as graders and tutors which taught the kids responsibil- ity. Student government n has always had an IM- PACT and been a V strong point of the McLane school struc- ture. A.S.B. officers O were elected in May to allow for a smoother beginning of each school year. Class offi- cers had many duties as well, with the four V classes electing new officers each semes- e ter. These involved leaders made deci- sions affecting the stu- d e n t b o d y a n d planned the social events which were the best in Fresno. 455 Student Life
