ny list of student re- lated activities in a larger high school would comprise many pages in length. At McLane this was especially true. Highlanders found more than enough extra groups for participation. Extended classroom projects kept kids involved in science, math, and government. The social studies de- partment had a full compli- ment for activities which gave the students exten- sive training in the judicial and political areas. The Academic Decathlon members studied many hours to increase and sharpen their knowledge in preparation for the pres- tigious event. The Mock Trial cast learned how the court system worked, by being involved in a active court room drama. Model U.l'l. helped kids discover how the ollicial United Nations was run and the in-depth study of the country they repre- sented was an eye-opener. The music department again showed the commu- nity that our school had plenty of talent. Highland- ers were in as many differ- ent levels and forms of mu- sic as their schedules would allow.
