G d Buddies Are More Than Just Friends uddies have a lasting IM- PACT on each and everyone of us. A buddy is someone really cares about you and who returns the feeling. A buddy is a person one can trust and rely on to always be there when need- ed for support. Buddies are buddies and friends are friends. Many people think they're the same but this is not so. Friends are people one visits with and talks to. A person can share with them their deep- est and darkest secrets. lt takes a lot of effort and giv- ing to be someone's buddy. To be a buddy a person needs to gain the others understanding, love, trust, and acceptance. Sometimes there is not always a need for words because a buddy knows a person well enough to understand the silence. A buddy is someone who can make one 's life fuller and richer. A person is wealthy, because lov- ing, trustful buddies are very dif ficult to find. Some people have more than one best friend, which is good. The more good friends the bet- ter. One 's best friend could be someone who a person has known practically all their life, or it could be someone they've just met. After the high school years end, be sure to always stay in touch with buddies because as one grows older, they can still make an IMPACT on our lives. who www if Mx nw, VE? isa - mf. 1 M . v '-fa W-Eefeggls M3111 Fillin' up. he 1987 McLane High School year began with a positive atti- tude which had an IMPACT on each student. Crowded halls, caused by an in- crease in the student population, re- sulted in many narrow escapes from locker handles. Dropped books be- came footballs and bruised arms were common as students pushed through the classroom doors to beat the tardy bell. Traditional activities were enjoyed throughout the year which molded the four classes together. Being in- volved in activities provided a stimu- lus for classroom accomplishments. Students 'lives were touched by all the caring personnel around them which provided security from outside world pressure.
