Go ng All The Wa Home he baseball season started with Highlanders making an IMPACT on their annu- al McLane Tournament. The Varsity team defeated their four opponents only to lose to Clovis West in the semi-finals The team was good but, the problem we had was being a young inexperienced team in a tough divi- sion, stated Coach Merv Carter. The two returning players were Seniors Phil Romero and Doug Nelson. The J.lL team seemed to be unstopable. They beat their opponents by large scores. I 'm very happy and excited that we 've done so terrific, I won't give up on my number one team, stat- ed JV Coach Jim Sir- marco. The Freshmen team struggled for most ofthe season, but as Coach DeMichillie stated, We improved more and more each day.
