Wctories Elude Varsity his year the Varsity Boy's started with a young and inexperienced team, hav- ing only one returning starter Joe Torres. Despite this, Coach Frank Syl- vester knew McLane 's hoopsters were ready to work hard and give every team a Hght to the hoop. Although only coming in 7th in the National Yosemite League, McLane had much to be proud 011 Spending many hours of their hard work made an IMPACT by keeping the better teams down as far as placing in the lY.KL. When playing Hoover, the number one team in the league, Varsity boys lost by only a few baskets. This being a big let down they victoriously came back in their 48-59 win against Roosevelt. The J.V and Freshman teams made a showing for the High- landers because of their hard work and skill. J. V ended 2-11 in the lY.KL. Freshman ended 7-6. Some players will return as var- sity players for the next few years.
