I 'lemories oonlight Magic' 'inter Fomral 1986-87 Another exciting Winter For- gal and another huge success, any of McLane 's students and heir dates were enchanted hroughout the evening. Magic in the Moonlight as held December 15 at the atelite Union at Fresno State. he music was provided by .ouis Rodriguez of Magic 'ouch . The dance started at B:00p.m. and lasted till !1:00p.m. Most of the couples Vent to dinner before the ance and there were a few that brent afterwards. After the ance, couples joined to chat rt the local ice cream parlors. As the royal candidates all graced the stage, the crowd gathered. Crowned Princess 's were Freshman Plannette Cas- tanon, Sophomore Joleen Puma, and Junior Shelley Starnes. Adding to the excite- ment of the princess an- nouncement was the crowning of the Queen, Sandy Graham. The dress fashion consisted of mostly white, pink, blue, and black. The most popular styles of formals were the strapless dresses. Black was the most common color of tux- edos. Blue, silver, and black were the theme colors and carried out in the decorations. There was a Christmas tree on the stage. There were silver and royal blue streamers strung from the ceiling and from the walkway. A second Christmas tree and poinsettias set in front ofa blue sparkling curtain pro- vided the backgrounds for the pictures. I As the couples entered the Union they had their choice of waiting in line to take their pic- tures or dancing awhile and then taking pictures as the line was long all night. Enjoying a quiet moment is Lynda Metzler and her date David Rooney. reen Sandy Graham and her court: Junior Princess Shelly Starnes, Sophomore incess Joleen Puma, and Freshman Princess Nannette Castanon. One ofthe many rewards for winning a rally is receiving the spirit stick shown by sophomores. ,88,89,90. Clan Competition s the year began, so did the Who 's gonna be the best this year, meaning clan competition. It took place every year, this student compe- tition to see who was going to be on the top of the heap. Considerable clan points were earned by the noon time activities, which consisted of egg tosses, balloon throws, wheel barrel racing, scavenger hunts, and lots more. Red and white day was an event that took place every week to show school spirit. Dress up days included nerd day, klash day, beach day, 50's day, toga day, and slave day. These special attires helped spark everyone 's enthusiasm. The rallies were the IMPACT that helped win points by the classes yelling and provided the hy- perness of who would win the spirit stick. 120 Clan Competition , -,J , iii 'M During homecoming week, on Klash Day, one ofthe noon time activities was perfecting their talent by dropping an egg into 2 cup as shown by Shawna Dye, Ronica Banuelos, Nikki Eskra, anc Shelly Starnes. Blowing the balloons until they burst for their class are Jason Strickland, Aaron Gustafson, and Ray Armbrister. Another noontime activity was to chug a can of soda down for c points.
