Getting Used To Brand New Management or the Hrst time in many years, the Fifth Brigade had a female Brigade Com- tnander, Colonel Frances Devins. Cadets again participated in a fariety of brigade functions, lead- Ership school, bivouac, and sum- er camp. Summer camp was dif brent from leadership school and bivouac in that cadets from all Ever the state of California attend- d. McLane 's Cadets lent a hand for the Veterans Day parade with a olor guard, drill team, and a arching unit. The cadets also rovided the manpower neces- ary for the daily raising and Califomia Cadet Corps lowering of the flags. McLane's rifle team worked hard to maintain their state title and notability. The team prac- ticed early in the morning every day before school started. Due to the lack of participation, there was one company instead of two. The company's elements were divided between third and fourth periods: second period was reserved for the staff class. The staff class was the working part of the cadet structure. Despite the depleted strength, the female led Fifth Brigade made an IMPACT on the other brigades in the state of California. Clowning around, which proves that Cadets isn 't all hard work, is Duane Wilson and Kou Her.
