AGRICULTURE-Vaccinating cattle, spraying and pruning fruit trees, raising prize calves, chickens and pigsg and dehorn- ing cattle are a few of the class activities of the ag boys. In his three years of Agriculture a student learns the different breeds of stock and poultry, farm management, soil conserva- tion, uses of different insecticides and modern, scientific methods of farming. N COMMERCIAL-Many shorthand students leave school at graduation to enter into business after having had extensive training in high schooli Typing, shorthand, commercial law, commercial arithmetic and training in business procedure are offered to students desiring business training. WOODWORK SHOP The pungent smell of sawdust and the burring of electric saws greet the visitor to the shop where each student dreams of making and finishing a beautiful and useful piece of furniture The best tools are at his disposal band saw, circle saw mitre saw planer jomter drill press and plenty of tables to work on During the Spring the furniture is displayed for the admiration of high school students HOMEMAKING-Sewing by pattern eliminates guess work and insures correct cutting and a neat fit Girls also learn the dxf ferent fabrics best suited for a particular pattern adjusting the pattern to fit, and sewing smoothly on electric machines Cooking new recipes in the most modern method produces a meal both tasty and attractive After preparing the meal stu dents serve it correctly Good grooming etiquette health and personality development are included in the course DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION-Students, working in local stores during the afternoons, attend regular classes in the morn- ing. In D. E. they learn salesmanship, store courtesy, details and background of the objects they sell. He learns which is the best article and why and then learns to sell the article. Only juniors and seniors may take D. E. and receive two credits each year while earning the prevailing wage.
