«r r ENCE Holman Library McKendree College Lebanon. IL 6225A JNSU.O V McKENDREAN Old Friends Old Friends, Old Friends, Sat on their park bench Like bookends. A newspaper blown through the grass Falls on the round toes Of the high shoes Of the Old Friends. Old Friends, Winter companions. The old men Lost in their overcoats. Waiting for the sunset. The sounds of the city, Sifting through trees, Settle like dust On the shoulders Of the Old Friends. Can you imagine us Years from today Sharing a park bench quietly? How terribly strange To be seventy. Old Friends, Memory brushes the same years. Silently sharing the same tears. I ' ve got other things I want to do! She finally decided to do it And she worked hard day and night At times she thought she just might quit. But, Dean Darrah and Brenda Pehle said we ' ll help win the fight. With extra help from Mary, Kathy, and Yo Lisa and Linda said we ' ll help too, you know. We all seemed to work quite a lot. And we made all of the deadlines, believe it or not! Well the yearbook is finally done, I ' m really glad I did it, I had a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy it now that it ' s here. Because I ' ll be doing it again NEXT YEAR!!! Well, another year at Mckendrec has come and gone. I hope the 1982 edition of the Mckendrean will help you remember all of the terrific times that have been shared this year. I have tried to include everything possible with the limited amount of pages. I regret not having pictures of Women ' s Intramurals and Model U.N. (I promise, they ' ll be in the ' 83 book!) I hope everyone enjoys this year ' s book as much as I enjoyed working on it. There are many people who helped make this yearbook a success, and I want to give a special thanks to: — Dean Darrah and Brenda Pehle for all of their help and guidance — Linda Techner, Herff Jones Representative — Mary Grabner for helping me get advertisers — Kathy Smith for working in the darkroom and providing pictures — Mike Acton for saving my life so many times by developing film and printing pictures — Verna Jones for working on the research and budget — Luttrell Photography for taking pictures — Student Government for all of their support — Terry Davinroy, Gary Alberter and Keith Sanders for letting me use their pictures — Tim Stanberry for all of the late night . . . (Oh, Sorry!) ... for keeping me company when I worked during the weekends I also would like to especially thank Lisa Crumley and Linda Murphy for all of their help and just being around when I needed someone to complain to! I couldn ' t have made all of my deadlines if you two weren ' t around. Thanks! Cathy Wojtowicz 1982 McKendrean Editor Kid 9 . Ef .., «■ | I ,V- ' V $£ Holman Library McKendree Cc Lebanon, IL 6 ' .
