Student Government STUDENT GOVERNMENT: Front Dean Tom Darrah, Bruce Winterrowd, Randy Smith, Claudia Cook, Gina Harlan, Val Thaxton, Ellen Fischer Back Ran- dy Hopwood, Bob Rhoads, Tom Helf- rich, Patty Douglas, Sheila Baugh, Pat Kiehna CAMPUS PROGRAMS BOARD: Sitting Tom Moser, Robin Rhoads, Standing Joe Caciano, Nancy Atkinson, Randy Smith, Janet Bowermaster Student government at McKendree is actually the incorporation of two bodies into one, the Student Congress and Campus Prograjn Board. Student Con- gress, of course, consists of representatives from all the classes. Campus Program Board is respon- sible for student activities and sponsors all the films, speakers, dances, concerts, and other social events of the year. Perhaps the greatest challenge to the student government came about when it decided to cancel interdorm for two weeks. The students were vehem- ently opposed to this decision and reacted with initiative and referendum. Although students are generally apathetic toward student government, this was one area where strong feelings lay.
