As one coming into an intersection, I have considered it a challenge and an honor to have had the opportunity to edit the ' 62 McKENDREAN. I am proud that I chose McKendree, a college with a rich heritage of Methodism and educational standards. While preparing the historical account for this year ' s book, the staff and I have become keenly aware that the campus on which we all walk is hallowed ground. I have not hallowed these premises any more than the thousands of McKendree students that have gone before me. The knowledge-red bricks, that have built McKendree walls, are not fading but are gaining character as they continue to mature. As a McKendrean, I hope that the memories contained within these pages will serve as a reminder that McKendree has a revered past and a crowning future.
